"Loka Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu"

2008 was a year many would like to forget. Wanton terrorism and violence claimed lakhs of innocent lives. The global economy collapsed. The IT bubble burst. Millions lost their jobs. Companies that ranked high bit the dust. Millionaires turned paupers. Relatively India has withstood the ravages with greater dignity than most countries. The reason for this can be attributed in part of the natural resilience and emotional stability of the Indian people brought about by a greater degree of spirituality and a philosophical outlook to life.

In order to strengthen the spirituality further and to provide solace to the people in these hard times, Lakshmipuri Trust has planned to conduct the SARVAISWHWARYA ASHTALAKSHMI POOJA and the SRI LAKSHMI KODINAMA ARCHANAI to coincide with the auspicious and commercially significant Akshaya Tritiya. Also for the first time a “Special Gaja Pooja” will be conducted in which offerings will be made nine elephants brought specially for the occasion. This grand spiritual event being conducted for the first time in the history of Tamilnadu, will be held over a period of 8 days from the 20th of April 2009 at the sprawling Somasundaram Groung in T Nagar, Chennai, the spiritual nerve-centre of Chennai. The event, which will be graced by highly revered Matathipathis and spiritual gurus, will conducted by an elitle team of 200 priests led by the former Melsanthis of Sabarimala Temple. More than 8 lakh devotees are expected to visit the venue on the pooja days to invoke divine blessings.

Tickets for the various poojas and offerings will be available at main temples and several landmark institutions in Chennai city. The detailed programme schedule and nature and benefits of the various Poojas, Homams and Yagams to be conducted as per vedic norms will be widely publicized through newspaper and TV ads.
